Hailing from the traditional Kuchipudi Pasumarthy family, Pavithra is the daughter of Pasumarthy Srinivasulu and granddaughter of Sangeetha Yakshagana Kalaprapurna Sri Pasumarthy Venu Gopala Krishana Sarma, is a professional vocalist apart from being a Kuchipudi dancer.
She has done her Bachelors in Computers and Certificate & Diploma in Kuchipudi dance, Diploma in Kuchipudi Yakshagana and Certificate course & Diploma in Carnatic Vocal with distinction. Her dance Gurus include..

Pavithra has performed lead roles in several Yakshaganas apart from lending vocal support to many dance ballets. She has enacted the roles of
- “Satyabhama” in Bhamakalapam.
- “Chitra Lekha” in Usha Parinayam.
- “Prahlada” & “Nartaki” in Bhakta Prahlada Yakshagana.
Her dance performances has been featured in various parts of the country apart from having performed in the Silicon Andhra Festival held in California, USA for which she was nominated in Guiness Book of World records along with 332 other artistes.
